Tim Burton films

If you know me in real life, you would now I like weird and quirky things.

It doesn't matter if we're talking about music, fashion, movies or anything else, I like things that are unique, different.

When it comes to movies I like almost everything, but in the weird and quirky department Tim Burton is one of the rulers.

He is one of my favourite directors (and usually also the writer and producer of his movies).

I like that fact that Johnny Depp and Tim Burton's wife Helena Bonham Carter play a (often big) part in his movies.

They are amazing at playing strange characters and they have great on screen chemistry.

These are the Tim Burton movies I've seen:

Twilight (The Movie)

About 6 months ago I decided to find out what the Twilight hype was about.

Everywere I read and heard about Twilight and the actors that played in it.

So I went to a local video rental and rented the DVD of Twilight.

Excited of what I was going to experience (I thought it must be good since it was such a big hype), I put the DVD in the DVD-player and pushed the PLAY button on the remote.

The movie started all mysterious with a deer being hunted and a girl saying: "I've never given much thought to how I would die, but dieing in the place of someone I love seems like a good way to go."

I thought that was wisdom and I wondered what the movie was going to be about, where the story would lead me.

As it turnes out, the story is about a girl named Bella, Bella Swan.

She used to live with her mom, but she's going to live with her dad for a while, in a place called Forks.

Life in Forks is completely different from her life in Arizona, where she used to live with her mother, and she finds it difficult to fit in.

She hangs out with some guys and girls and they like her.

However she still feels like she's alone.

Then she meets a guy named Edward, who isn't average in any way.

Things with him are strange and soon she finds out what he really is.

After that things get really complicated but she know that she's not alone anymore.

Now she's got something to live for and she's not going to give up easily.

I'm not going to say much more about the plot or the characters, since I don't want to spoil it for everyone that hasn't seen this movie yet.

What I will say however, that it's a movie filled with emotions: insecurity, loneliness, fear and love, amongst others.

There's humour in it, drama and action, all crammed in one movie.

It's one of my favourites and I think I've seen it at least five times now, sadly never in the cinema.

It took me a while to find a good trailer, but I finally found one that's acceptable (you just need to stop the trailer at 2:25).

The movie is not the same as the book.

The book is much better, and in the movie events are different.

If you want to have the best viewing experience, you have to read the book "Twilight" by author Stephenie Meyer first!

Heavenly Creatures (the movie)

A few months back I saw this movie on television.

I knew I had seen parts of it before, but now I got to see the whole movie.

This is a movie by New Zealand director Peter Jackson, and it's a true story.

It's based on the diary of Pauline Parker, who becomes best friends with Juliet Hulme.

These close friends have a great imagination.

They make-up a whole fantasy world and write books about it.

They quickly became obsessed with each other and their fantasy world.

When their parents decided to take the two girls away from each other, they make a plan to kill Pauline's mother, who they think is the one that stands in their way.

Heavenly creatures is a raw, but also dreamy, kind of movie.

It's real but also imaginary and it's a real drama.

You feel for Juliet and Pauline and want them to be able to be together, but you also realise that killing isn't going to help (but they don't).

It is a pretty bizarre story and therefore also a pretty bizarre movie, but also really interesting!

I've always been interested in crime and murder.

Not in a way that I want to be a criminal and murder people, but in a way that I want to know what brings people to do this kind of things.

You know, the psychology behind it all.

That's why I'm so interested in things like psychology, criminology and forensic sciences.

If you are a movie enthusiastic, you should really see this movie since it's a classic.

It's pretty much a cult movie that you must see!

It's a very interesting story and a great movie (that you definitely must see!).

Ginger Snaps (the movie)

When I was still a teenager I saw the movie Ginger Snaps on the birthday party of one of my friends.

None of us had ever seen this movie, but it seemed kind of cool, so we rented it.

It turned out to be this wicked horror movie that remains one of my favourites till this day.

Its a low-budget Canadian cult movie and I love it!

The story is a about 2 sisters in a small town.

They hate everyone and everything and they are obsessed with death.

One night one of the sisters gets bitten and that changes everything.

The sister changes.

She likes things and people that she used to hate and her body is changing as well.

The other sister has to find a way to save her before it's to late.

I like this movie because you can really relate to the sisters.

Not in a way that I'm obsessed with death and want to kill myself (hell no), but in a way of not fitting in.

I guess everyone can relate to not always fitting in and feeling all alone in this world.

Also, this movie deals with the paranormal, which I always like, and it this horror/thriller gets you on the edge of your seat.

This movie has everything a good horror movie should have: love, humour, thill, great special effects and a good storyline.

Avatar, the movie

A few weeks ago I went to the movies with a friend of mine.

I had heard that Avatar (a 3D movie) was supposed to be awesome, so I decided to go see it.

When we arrived at the cinema, the lobby was crammed full of people that wanted to see Avatar.

Because of that, we had to sit at the front row :S.

We were handed goggles to wear, so we could see the movie in 3D.

Needless to say, the goggles weren't pretty (though nice colours: black and red), but since everyone was wearing them, it didn't bother me.

The movie started and I was amazed by the 3D effects.

There was so much going on on the screen and since it was in 3D it made me dizzy and a bit nauseous for the first 30 minutes.

After that, my body adjusted to the 3D effect and the speed of it, and I could enjoy the movie better.

The main character is a guy called Jake Sully, who is in the Navy (I think).

He is paralysed from the waist down and therefore in a wheelchair.

In the movie there's a war on a planet between humans and blue creatures called Avatar.

American scientist have made hybrids of Avatar and human dna.

The human the dna was used is linked to the hybrid, and so the human can take over the mind of the avatar.

Jake Sully is one of those people that is linked to an Avatar and he is sent to the Avatar to learn from them.

He learns a lot and nothing will be the same ever again.

I won't say anymore, since I don't want to ruin it for you if you haven't seen Avatar yet.

I do advise you however, to go see this movie!

It's awesome and you really don't want to miss it!

Hanna Montana the movie

A few months ago I saw Hanna Montana The Movie.

I never actually saw the tv-show but I was curious about the movie.

It was a nice teen movie about life, family an love, and the songs were great.

The song I love the most was a ballad: Butterfly Fly Away.

It just moved me!

I Also liked the song The Climb, which is also a ballad.

Next comes a song sung by Tailer Swift: Crazier.

And last but not least comes: Hoedown Throwdown.

Definately not a ballad ;P but it's a happy song :D.
